The Licensed Professional Counselors Assocation, LPCA of Georgia is the premier organization that represents the counseling profession in our state. We are dynamic, progressive, and we have created a safe, nurturing association fostering the professional and personal growth of our members in order to ensure and empower the future development of the profession and its association.

We (LPCA) are an association united by a mission defining our profession through what we do. LPCA of Georgia is not just a brochure or a web page. We are truly a group of dedicated individuals who serve as one voice for our profession.. This voice is one that demonstrates worth to our state and local governments, to our membership, and to the clients we serve.

LPCA is driven by a desire to provide quality mental health care. It is our goal to empower LPCs, educate our communities, our state and our nation, and edify the profession of Licensed Professional Counselors.

LPCA of Georgia consists of a 25 member full board. Board positions include district representatives, ethics, membership, events, diversity, government relations, professional development, student relations, newsletter, public relations, disaster, and the executive committee. LPCA of GA is blessed to have a full-time executive director, one part-time administrative assistant and student volunteers to run the business side of our organization.

As of July 2008, our membership represented 75% of the Professional Counselors currently licensed in Georgia. LPCA has established 11 Student Affiliate Organizations at graduate counseling programs throughout the state.
